Travel to Germany and to the Leipzig
Bach Festival
The Bach Society invites you to travel with the Bach Choir to Germany May 23
through June 2, 2003. The main goal will be to participate in the annual Bach
Festival. Concerts include:
- Collegium Vocale Gent (choir and orchestra), directed by Philippe Herreweghe:
Mass in B Minor
- Thomanerchor (St. Thomas boy choir) with Leipziger Barockorchester, directed
by Georg Christoph Biller: St. John Passion
- La Capella Ducale and Musica Fiata Köln, directed by Roland Wilson:
Cantatas by Johann Schelle
- St. Thomas Boy Choir, directed by Georg Christoph Biller: Worship service
for Ascension Day in St. Thomas Church, in the style of services held during
Bach's tenure as music director.
- Choir of King's College Cambridge and the Academy of Ancient Music, directed
by Stephen Cleobury.
- Bach Choir, Christ the King Lutheran Church, directed by Peter Kopp:
Cantata 44, Sie werden euch in den Bann tun, for the Sunday liturgy
at St. Thomas Church.
Other destinations include Tübingen, Dresden, Wittenberg, and Berlin.
Approximate cost of the tour is $2,395 including concert tickets, round-trip
flight from Houston, hotels, two meals per day, and ground transportation. If

A $300 deposit (refundable until March 31) reserves a place on the trip.
