Christ the King Church's fall festival begins Friday, November 22, with a catered dinner and silent and live auctions. The evening is graciously hosted by Bette and Jim Bowers at their home. Arrive at 7:00 p.m. for fun and fellowship; dinner will be served at 7:30 p.m. Dinner is $10.00 per person. Those attending are asked to bring a dessert or a bottle of wine or other beverage.
Our auction this year will benefit the Crosswise Lutheran Ministry in La Grange and Christ the King's expanding youth ministries. We have many wonderful auction items, including many folk art items, but we are still looking for more.
If you have an item to donate for the auction, please contact Bill Mintz.
Reservations and pre-payments for the dinner are a must. You may complete one of the reservation forms inserted into Sunday bulletins and mail it in or place it in the offering or call or e-mail the church office. Deadline for reservations is November 11.
Plans are in the works for a festival event for children, both big and small. It will take place on Saturday, November 23, from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Ideas now being considered include skating or bowling for older children and a party in the parish hall for the younger ones. If you have a great idea for the kids or would like to volunteer your time and creativity, call Marie Monroe.
On Sunday, November 24, Pr. Edwin Peterman, retired Senior Pastor of Christ the King Church, will be the guest preacher at both services. The festival breakfast will be held between services. Cliff Helmcamp has agreed to chair the breakfast. If you can help with set-up, clean-up or decorations, please contact Cliff.
