Theologian in Residence: Barbara Green

The Melanchthon Institute welcomes as fall Theologian in Residence The Rev. Barbara Green. She will be with us from October 15 – November 1. In addition to being one of the presenters at the October 19 – 21 Bonhoeffer Today Conference (see separate article for details), she will preach on Reformation Sunday and teach a three part course on Monday evenings entitled, New Challenges to Religion and Politics. Pastor Green is the Executive Director of the Churches’ Center for Theology and Public Policy in Washington, D.C. She is also a scholar of the life and work of Dietrich Bonhoeffer and translator of his book, Discipleship (Formerly titled Cost of Discipleship). She has written many articles and is co-author of Lines in the Sand: Justice and the Gulf War. She holds degrees from the College of Wooster in Ohio and Yale University Divinity School.
