Fran Moncure, an Image of Fitness
was a featured resident in the West University Examiner newspaper recently as
an image of fitness in the community. She has, and continues to walk many a
mile in the neighborhood, keeping active and healthy after retirement. Go Fran!
Peter Hokanson Receives Eagle Scout Award
The Eagle Court of Honor for Peter Hokanson was held Tuesday, August 15, at
the West University Methodist Church. For his Eagle project, Peter planned and
constructed a flagstone pathway to the children’s playground at Christ
the King Church.
Pastor Kathy Haueisen Celebrates 20 Years as an ELCA Minister
Congratulations to Pastor Haueisen. She was ordained by the ELCA church on August
31, 1986.
United Way Recognizes Christ the King Church Members for Community
Service
The Houston Chronicle recently saluted the members of the 2005-2006 United Way
Women’s Initiative of the Alexis de Tocqueville Society. Our members—Dr.
Suzanne Bruce, Lynn Mathre, and Robin Russell—were among the women recognized.
Along with the United Way of the Texas Gulf Coast, our congregation gratefully
celebrates our members’ dedication to service in our community.
