Make Palm Crosses for Palm Sunday
The Altar Guild’s monthly meetings
are on the third Saturday of the month.On Saturday, March 18,
all members are invited to join the Guild and to participate in the preparation
of the “setting of the credence altars.” Then on Saturday,
April 8, we will be making palm crosses for the congregation. This annual
event is always fun and is a great introduction to the Altar Guild. Bring
a sack lunch and meet in the narthex at 10:00 a.m. The Lenten season
followed by Holy Week is one of the best times to learn about the Altar Guild
and its wonderful behind-the-scenes ministry. Holy Week includes the stripping
of the altar on Maundy Thursday followed by the Easter Vigil and the dressing
of the altar. These are some of the most memorable moments of the church year.
